“…The temperature behaviour of gels derived from the Pechini method (Fig. 5b and e) is characterised by a multistage combustion sequence with relatively sharp weight loss maxima at around 150 • C, 200 • C, 300 • C and 500 • C, which can be assigned to the volatilization of residual solvent, decomposition of nitrates and formation of NO x and N 2 species, loss of organics by pyrolysis and release of CO 2 , respectively [33].
