Abstract:The present research investigates the production of activated carbons from natural resources using methods of chemical activation and the use of these activated carbons for the adsorption of organic molecules in aqueous media. The lignocellulosic precursor used for the activated carbon preparation was coffee husk, which is an agricultural waste generated during coffee production in many regions of Brazil. The activation was achieved by the reaction between phosphoric acid (H 3 PO 4) and the raw coffee husk. Th… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
