Production of Y-Ba-Cu-O Nanowires and Nanotubes by Electrochemical Method

Abstract: In this work, the technological aspects of great importance YBa2Cu3O7−x superconducting materials were produced in the form of nanotube by electrochemical method. The electrochemical deposition conditions for the YBaCu deposition in nanoporous Al2O3 were investigated. The heat treatment was applied to YBaCu/Al2O3 nanopatterns, to form superconductive phase. The resulting nanostructures were found to be in length 45 µm, 177210 nm in diameter. The produced nanostructures at −4 V and more positive potentials were… Show more

“…22,23) Kaya et al used an electrochemical method to electroplate alumina templates from a bath containing yttrium, barium, and copper ions, and obtained nanowires and nanotubes several microns long. 24) Naik and Raju used cellulose templates to grow nanotubes 200 to 500 nm in length. 25) However, the powder containing nanorods had a high level of impurity as evidenced by X-ray diffraction (XRD) graphs and most of the nanowires showed zero resistance far below T c .…”
