Linguistic Landscape (LL) research has explored signage in various public places in the world, including Indonesia. However, since there has been no comprehensive review of LL studies in Indonesia, the current article seeks to identify trends in LL research in Indonesia. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) method was applied to analyze thirty-one LL articles coming out from the open knowledge maps application. The findings suggest that there is a steady increase in the number of LL studies in Indonesia apparent starting from the year of 2017 based on the obtained data from eleven provinces. More bottom-up signs were found mostly using quantitative approaches. The findings also reveal that the Indonesian language dominates signs in the LL studies followed by English. Interestingly, although Indonesia has the biggest number of Muslim citizens in the world, Arabic is used more often than English only in two locations of LL studies, namely the tomb of Sunan Ampel and the City of Mataram. Issues often discussed in the LL studies are multilingualism, micro-analysis of linguistics, and broader issues, namely powerandsolidarity, identity, and ideology. Future researchers may focus more on qualitative analysis of LL studies, and relates LL studies with promising topics on geo-linguistics, management of halal food, ecology and culture, inequality and economic mobility, health issues, minority language, media in ELT, and online/virtual LL as well as language contestation related to the abovementioned issues.

The use of language can be seen in the private and public domains. The purpose of this study is to describe the use of language in signs in the linguistic landscape at Surabaya Pasarturi Station and to answer questions about the actors and functions of the linguistic landscape at Surabaya Pasarturi Station. This research method uses descriptive qualitative. Methods of data collection is done by observation and photography techniques. The data in this study are visual data, namely the results of visual image portraits containing language signs at Surabaya Pasarturi Station. The results of the study show that there are six language variations in the linguistic landscape at Surabaya Pasrturi Station, monolingual, bilingual, and multilingual. The language variations consist of monolingual languages, namely Indonesian, English and Javanese. Two variations of bilingual language were found, namely Indonesian-English and Indonesian-Javanese, while multilingual language variations found one data, namely those showing Indonesian-English-Javanese. Actors of linguistic landscape signs in Surabaya Pasarturi Station are from public authorities and private/commercial actors. There are several functions used at Surabaya Pasarturi Station, namely as building markers, tools and rooms; as an information guide; as prohibitions and warnings; as advertisement distribution.

This study endeavors to meticulously assess the efficacy of a straightforward intervention in Arabic for a person with Down Syndrome. The research focuses on a specific subject denoted as MS, representing children with Down Syndrome possessing an extremely low IQ. The subject is perceived as incapable of executing cognitive tasks, including acquiring linguistic capabilities. Through a qualitative approach, this research integrates methods such as observation, interviews, and expert assessments conducted by psychologists to oversee the intervention process. Data collection encompasses the researcher's observational records, interviews, and pertinent documentation. A descriptive analysis methodology is employed for data analysis and presentation. The study reveals discernible enhancements in MS's Arabic pronunciation following the phonetic articulation intervention. Initially, MS could only pronounce the letters Alif, Ta, Jim, Ha, Dal, Za, Sin, Shod, Tho, 'Ain, Fa, Kaf, Lam, Mim, Nun, Ya, Wawu, Hha, Hamzah, but later, MS can also articulate Ba, Tsa, Kho, Dzal, Ro, Syin, Dlod, Dzo, Ghin, Qof, Yak. Throughout the investigation, recurrent challenges manifested as MS encountered difficulties, such as experiencing headaches and multiple crossed eyes in articulating specific phonemes and words during the initial phases of Arabic language acquisition.
