Tuna and tuna-like fisheries play a vital role in Indonesian livelihood, especially in the archipelagic waters. However, despite the importance, the concern in general data collection activities for tuna, i.e., limited, with incomplete scientific knowledge and insufficient data has hampered the assessment. The purpose of this study was to analyse on how fisheries-dependent data system could transform the data quality. For this purpose, the analysis was conducted based on e-logbook data from January to December 2020. The result showed that some robust fisheries indicators (catch, effort, fleet and species composition) could be produced from this particular dataset. In addition, e-logbook has the best attribute for improving the data quality, especially for small-scale tuna fisheries in FMA-714. Low cost and vast spatial and temporal coverage are the main characteristics on why the program should be expanded and monitored carefully in the future.

Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat (KSB), Nusa Tenggara Barat Province has potential fishery resources. Based on Permen KP No.18 of 2014 concerning the Republic of Indonesia State Fisheries Management Area (WPPNRI), KSB marine is included in WPPNRI 573. The purpose of this study was to determine the sustainable potential of pelagic fisheries and their level of utilization. This research was conducted in KSB from January to November 2022. The research method used was a field survey method and a descriptive method. The results of the study showed that the relationship between effort and CPUE for large pelagic fish obtained a linear equation y = 12.067x + 277.6 with R2 = 0.1785. This equation explains the positive relationship between production and effort, meaning that fishing gear affects the production of large pelagic fish. the optimum effort value is 1674.90 trips per year and the maximum sustainable catch is 232,459.1 kg per year. Effort relationship with CPUE of small pelagic fish obtained a linear equation y = -18.575x + 11512 with R2 = 0.2817. This equation explains the negative relationship between effort and catch. This shows that fishing gear is not the main factor affecting the amount of production. the optimum effort value is 106917.700 trips per year and the maximum sustainable catch is 992998.139 kg per year. The utilization rate value is 2.049%, with an effort level value of 0.001%. This study concludes that the potential and level of utilization of pelagic fisheries in West Sumbawa Regency are still below the sustainable potential.

Penelitian bertujuan untuk melihat hasil tangkapan pancing berdasarkan waktu penangkap. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Agustus hingga November 2019 di Perairan Saumlaki dengan menggunakan metode survei untuk mendapatkan data tangkapan dan waktu operasi. Data penelitian kemudian dianalisis dengan GT kapal menurut PM Perhubungan tahun 2013, mengenai pengukuran kapal, CPUE, formula sturges dan chi-kuadrat dengan ketelitian 0,05 dan 0,01, serta perbandingan hasil tangkapan untuk menjelaskan hasil penelitian grafis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ukuran kapal 8 GT, panjang total hasil tangkapan ikan cakalang pancing tonda 30-75 cm dan tuna madidihang 34-74 cm, serta penemuan waktu penangkap antara pagi dan sakit cenderung mengalami perbedaan dan berpengaruh pada hasil tangkapan, di mana waktu tangkap terbaik di pagi hari. Hal ini terjadi lagi dengan analisis chi-kuadrat dengan jumlah ekor ikan cakalang, jumlah ekor ikan tuna madidihang, jumlah ekor ikan cakalang dan tuna madidihang dan berat ikan cakalang, berat ikan tuna madidihang, berat ikan cakalang dan tuna madidihang. Namun pada CPUE, CPUE jumlah ikan cakalang, CPUE jumlah ikan tuna madidihang, CPUE jumlah ikan cakalang dan tuna madidihang dan CPUE berat ikan cakalang, CPUE berat ikan tuna madidihang memiliki nilai sedangkan pada CPUE berat ikan cakalang dan tuna madidihang memiliki nilai nilai.
