“…The feature variability detected by radiomics in patients with residual myomas may be an early indicator of continued myoma progression, enabling the identification of heterogeneity characteristics, i.e. the radiomics features that identify heterogeneous changes in myomas, at the microscopic level 23 , 24 . Furthermore, quantitative measurements of specific tissue areas can provide additional information on subtle differences in tissue structure, including areas of necrosis, cell proliferation and neoangiogenesis 25 , 26 , that relate to intrinsic regrowth mechanisms of residual myomas not visible to the naked eye.…”

“…Recently, with the rapid development of sequencing technology, gene mutations related to OTSCC and genetic biomarker candidates related to poor prognosis have been reported 29–31 . In addition, with the development of radiomics and machine learning techniques, radiomics signatures related to the prognosis of head and neck cancer have been developed, and prognostic prediction models have been reported 32–34 . Through additional research on these genetic or radiomics biomarkers, the development of a predictive model that can more precisely predict the disease risk of pT1‐2N0 early stage OTSCC patients and select high‐risk patients in need of active treatment is necessary.…”

“…Several previously published studies have also reported the predictive value of intratumoral heterogeneity for patients irradiated for the first time for HNC. In a study involving pre-irradiation MRI, Alfieri et al found a signature associated with the patients outcomes that included three radiomics features correlated with tumor heterogeneity [35]. Akram et al also performed a radiomics study in 14 patients irradiated with IMRT for nasopharyngeal carcinoma.…”
