“…The genus Promicromonospora Krasil’nikov et al (1961) belongs to the family Promicromonosporaceae in the suborder Micrococcineae (Zhi et al , 2009). This genus is well established in terms of morphological and chemotaxonomic properties (Busse et al , 2003; Jiang et al , 2009) and 16S rRNA gene sequence-based phylogeny (Stackebrandt et al , 1997; Zhi et al , 2009). At the time of writing, the genus comprised nine recognized species, namely Promicromonospora citrea (Krasil’nikov et al , 1961), P. sukumoe (Takahashi et al , 1987), P. aerolata and P. vindobonensis (Busse et al , 2003), P. kroppenstedtii (Alonso-Vega et al , 2008), P. flava (Jiang et al , 2009), P. umidemergens (Martin et al , 2010), P. xylanilytica (Qin et al , 2012) and an endophytic species described by Kaewkla & Franco (2012), P. endophytica .…”

“…Most of these species were isolated from soil, the rhizosphere, or the surface of plants. P. vindobonensis and P. aerolata were isolated from indoor air samples (Busse et al, 2003), and P. umidemergens (Martin et al, 2010) was isolated from indoor moisture with mold. Recently, P. alba was isolated from ant cuticles (Guo et al, 2016).…”

“…The genus Promicromonospora, belonging to the family Promicromonosporaceae, was irst proposed by Krasil'nikov et al (1961). This genus is phylogenetically closely related to the genera Cellulosimicrobium and Oerskovia (Schumann et al 2001;Busse et al 2003). Members of the genus are aerobic and Gram-positive actinomycetes.…”
