Prompt production of the hidden charm pentaquarks in the LHC

Pan Ling,
Xiao-Hu Dai,
Meng-Lin Du
et al.

Abstract: Motivated by the observation of the first hidden charm pentaquarks by the LHCb collaboration in 2015 and the updated analysis with an order-of-magnitude larger data set in 2019, we estimate their cross sections for the prompt production as well as their heavy quark spin partners, in the Σ ( * ) c D( * ) hadronic molecular picture, at the center-of-mass energy 7 TeV in the pp collision. Their cross sections are several nb and we would expect several tens hidden charm pentaquark events in the LHC based on its cu… Show more

“…The mechanism can be applied to the and states, which are known to couple strongly to the pair (and their antiparticles) [34,[84][85][86][87][88] as well as to the hidden-charm pentaquarks. It has been used for estimating the prompt production cross sections of the state [89,90] and its partners [83], the and states [91], the charm-strange hadronic molecules [82], and the states [92] at hadron colliders. As for the production of the state, despite the debates [11,83,89,90,[93][94][95][96][97][98][99][100][101], the estimated total cross sections [83,90] are consistent with the CDF [102] and CMS [103] measurements.…”
