“…With a growth in the concentration of the CeO 2 dopant to 0.15 mol, the formation of polymorphic phase transformations in the composition of ceramics is observed with the formation of a Zr 0.85 Ce 0.15 O 2 phase with a tetragonal crystal lattice type; the formation of which occurs by the phase rearrangement of the Zr 0.98 Ce 0.02 O 2 monoclinic phase into the tetragonal Zr 0.85 Ce 0.15 O 2 with a rise in the effect of substitution of zirconium for cerium. Such polymorphic phase transformations are typical for the structure of zirconia ceramics when magnesium [45], yttrium [46] or calcium [47,48] oxides are added to it, which results in the initialization of polymorphic transformation processes at lower temperatures (1300-1500 • C), at which no polymorphic transformations are observed in the case of pure zirconia [49].…”

“…During the cooling process after sintering, the natural phase transformation from tetragonal phase to monoclinic phase occurs with large volume expansion, which may lead to cracks and other defects. [ 38,39 ] In order to obtain stable tetragonal phase at room temperature, stabilizers are added, such as Y 2 O 3 , [ 40,41 ] MgO, [ 42 ] CeO 2 , [ 43 ] CaO, [ 44,45 ] La 2 O 3 , [ 46 ] etc. The cations of Y 3 + , Mg 2 + , Ce 4 + , Ca 2 + , La 3 + can be partially dissolved into ZrO 2 ceramics, forming a substitutional solid solution, and preventing the spontaneous tetragonal‐monoclinic phase transition.…”
