Digital innovations can improve the consumer experience by facilitating more personalized and convenient interactions, enhancing user interfaces, or introducing new features and functions. The potential innovation value rests in the capacity to attract and retain customers, boost customer satisfaction, and cultivate brand loyalty. The objective of this study is to formulate a digital startup strategy based on the potential value of innovation in six areas: strategy and planning, marketing, technological process, quality and environment, logistics, and human resources. This can help startups and stakeholders make informed decisions on how to best allocate resources and efforts to maximize their chances of success. Using a potential value map derived from a questionnaire survey, which held in February 2022, the innovation potential was analyzed. From an interview with the manager, the data served as the basis for developing the strategic plan using the TRIZ technique. Aspects of strategy and planning (2.33) and human resources (2.00) have the lowest score among the six aspects and classified as “B” level. Using the process of the TRIZ method, additional analysis of these two aspects yielded several solutions applicable to the formulation of the company’s strategy. Training regarding the strategic planning of the company is one of the strategies and planning-related solutions. Our study shows that TRIZ model is helpful to handle the identification and find solution of contradictions in problem situation of digital start-up company.

Idea generation, as a key component of the Front End of Innovation (FEI), is a critical phase in entrepreneurial endeavors, serving as the foundation for new venture creation and product development. Innovation management and entrepreneurship literature underscores the importance of idea generation, emphasizing its role as an essential precursor to successful ventures and products. While academic research has extensively explored the FEI and idea generation methods, a significant gap remains in developing FEI models for broad use or specific contexts. Especially, there is a lack of action-oriented, performative models that offer detailed, applicable techniques and tools. Existing models often adopt only a corporate perspective, are overly broad, use complex structures or miss the use of new emerging digital tools, which makes these models not accessible or relevant to entrepreneurs or applicable across different industries or product types. To address these issues, employing the Integrative Literature Review Methodology, this study proposes a comprehensive FEI framework designed to facilitate the development of new idea-generation models that cater to different types of users and contexts and incorporate contemporary techniques and tools. The framework focuses on six (6) key dimensions of FEI models: (1) Model Orientation, Scope and Context; (2) Innovation Type and Innovation Drivers; (3) Model Structure and Visualization; (4) Flow of Activities, Flexibility and Adaptability; (5) Core FEI Activities and Granularity; and (6) Toolkit (Tools and Techniques), offering a range of recommendations for each. It aims to provide scholars and practitioners (entrepreneurs, teams, or companies) with a systematic approach to creating usable FEI models that make the Front End of Innovation more structured and predictable.

Redesign the Wood Cutting Saw to Be More Ergonomic Using The TRIZ Method

A cutting saw is one of the tools used to cut wood material. In this regard, the cutting saw still has shortcomings in its application. Several testing methods were conducted to analyze the failures of cutting saws circulating in the community, including the Nordic body map questionnaire. After checking directly, there are complaints of pain when using a cutting saw, especially on the right hand. For this reason, it is necessary to redesign it as a consideration later expected to improve the shortcomings in the current cutting saw. Several methods are used in this redesign, including TRIZ, OWAS, and anthropometry. TRIZ is a method used in the development of a design. This method's concept leads to solutions to the problem of contradictions that occur and leads to innovative solutions that have been tested with 100% success. After obtaining the function or attributes of the product, the next stage is to improve the user's posture so that the cutting saw tool can be used optimally and can initiate. The OWAS method corrects the postural position used in cutting saws. The specification of the handsaw product design based on the processing of the voice of the customer using a tree analysis diagram is that the features are reducing fatigue levels and being able to cut quickly, as well as for reliability, namely the handle with anti-slip qualities.
