Abstract:Acute urinary retention is a condition characterized by a sudden inability to urinate, which is accompanied by severe pain and an intense urge to urinate. The article discusses the predisposing factors for this pathological condition, the role of combined drug therapy as a method of its prevention, assessed modern methods of drainage of the lower urinary tract during acute urinary retention.
