Pseudonocardia mongoliensis sp. nov. and Pseudonocardia khuvsgulensis sp. nov., isolated from soil

Abstract: Two actinomycetes, designated MN08-A0270T and MN08-A0297T, were isolated from soil from the area around Khuvsgul Lake, Khuvsgul province, Mongolia, and subjected to phenotypic and genotypic characterization. They produced well-developed, branched substrate hyphae and, similar to closely related species of the genus Pseudonocardia, produced zigzag-shaped aerial hyphae by acropetal budding and blastospores. A comparative analysis of 16S rRNA gene sequences indicated that strains MN08-A0270T and MN08-A0297T forme… Show more

“…net/pseudonocardia.html). Bacterial species of this genus have been isolated from various environments, such as soil (Henssen et al 1983;Lee et al 2002;Park et al 2008;Qin et al 2008;Ara et al 2011), plant roots (Duangmal et al 2009;Kaewkla and Franco 2011;Zhao et al 2011), plant stem (Qin et al 2010), coastal sediment (Liu et al 2006), deep-sea sediment (Tian et al 2013), industrial sludge (Mahendra and AlvarezCohen 2005) and a gold mine cave (Lee et al 2001). Mangrove ecosystems, as highly productive wetlands distributed along estuaries, provide refuge, growing, breeding and feeding zones for many marine organisms (Holguin et al 2001).…”

“…So far, the genus Pseudonocardia encompasses 44 species with validly published names (http://www.bacterio.cict.fr/; Ara et al 2011;Franco 2010, 2011;Li et al 2010;Qin et al 2010Qin et al , 2011Sakiyama et al 2010;Zhao et al 2011a). Members of the genus Pseudonocardia have the characteristics as follow: have the type IV cell wall, aerial and vegetative mycelium, display spore chains which are produced by acropetal budding or fragmentation, have MK-8 (H 4 ) or MK-9 as their major menaquinone, iso-branched hexadecanoic acid as the predominant fatty acid.…”
