Psychology and sociology in Australia: The published evidence

Abstract: All the articles (N = 1,273) published during the past 10 years in four major Australian psychology and sociology journals are examined to assess the quality of psychology and sociology research in this country. Four observations stand out. First, more than half of the articles published are theoretical treatises and do not present statistical analyses.
