Psychophysiologische und psychoneuroimmunologische Ergebnisse zur Neurodermitis

Abstract: Results of psychophysiological, psychoendocrinological, and psychoneuroimmunological research on the skin in patients with atopic dermatitis were evaluated. 11 investigations were selected and analysed with respect to both design and results. “…In general, itch can be induced or modified by cognitive stress perception such as fatigue, anxiety, repressed emotions as well as psychiatric diseases such as depression (144–151). Consequently, in AD, a correlation between the intensity of pruritus, scratching, mental stress factors and psychiatric conditions could be demonstrated upon experimental studies (146, 147, 152–154). Furthermore, AD patients experienced a more intensive stress‐induced pruritus in comparison to healthy persons and patients with psoriasis under equal study conditions (152).…”

“…Finally, mention should be made of the fact that many investigations have suggested altered psychophysiological reactivity to stress in patients with atopic dermatitis. However, this issue is beyond the scope of this article, and the interested reader is referred to a recent review on this subject [89]. …”
