Public policies for tourism management of protected natural areas with paleontological heritage: approach to the province of La Rioja (Argentina)

Abstract

This article presents the results of a retrospective analysis of the conservation of paleontological heritage and tourist activity in order to investigate the tourism planning process in protected natural areas in the province of La Rioja, Argentina. Likewise, the protection of paleontological heritage within protected natural areas is addressed, from the legal-administrative point of view, understanding that for the territorial ordering of tourism to result in an integrated manner, it is necessary to coordinate all legislative areas with competence in the theme. An analytical and critical perspective was used through a bibliographic review, and analysis of secondary sources such as regulations, plans, programs and projects, referring to tourism, conservation and paleontological heritage.
