Punya Kite: Identitas Baru Prinsen Park Dalam Lokalitas Kawasan Mangga Besar

Abstract

The identity of a city is formed by the conditions, character, and competitive advantages possessed by the city, which makes a city different from other cities because of its uniqueness and distinctiveness, as well as its features. Nowadays, the identity of the city is often lost in the flow of modernization and the development of the times which demands that everything is fast and instant, leading to uniformity. Prinsen Park, located in Mangga Besar, has been an entertainment center since the Dutch era, which can be said to be the forerunner of many modern cinemas. Tankwood or formerly known as the artist village is the Hollywood version of Jakarta in the 1940s. However, modernization eliminates this positive entertainment center. Prinsen Park which is now the Lokasari area, has turned into a nightlife center that has lost its initial identity and becomes negative. Shop houses that are partially abandoned can also be seen in the Lokasari area at this time. This degradation in terms of physical, social, and mental needs to be restored to restore the lost Lokasari identity. Urban acupuncture method is used to restore this area. The architectural program that is carried out is expected to form a new Lokasari identity as an entertainment center with its uniqueness that is friendly to all ages, with programs that are adapted to the circumstances and preferences of the local community. Sekarang ini, identitas kota seringkali hilang terbawa arus modernisasi dan perkembangan zaman yang menuntut segala sesuatu serba cepat dan instan, hingga berujung pada keseragaman. Prinsen Park yang berada di Mangga Besar, merupakan pusat hiburan sejak era Belanda, yang dapat dikatakan sebagai cikal bakal dari banyak bioskop di zaman modern ini. Tangkiwood atau yang dulu dikenal sebagai kampung artis merupakan Hollywood versi Jakarta pada tahun 1940an. Namun, modernisasi menghilangkan pusat hiburan yang bersifat positif ini. Prinsen Park yang sekarang merupakan kawasan Lokasari, berubah menjadi pusat hiburan malam yang menghilangkan identitas awal dan menjadi negatif. Ruko-ruko yang sebagian terbengkalai juga terlihat pada kawasan Lokasari saat ini. Degradasi baik dari segi fisik, sosial, dan mental ini perlu dipulihkan untuk mengembalikan identitas Lokasari yang hilang. Metode urban acupuncture digunakan untuk memulihkan kawasan ini. Program arsitektur yang diusung diharapkan dapat membentuk identitas Lokasari yang barusebagai pusat hiburan dengan kekhasannya yang ramah bagi semua umur, dengan program yang disesuaikan dengan keadaan dan kegemaran masyarakat setempat.
