Quality evaluation of welding joints by different methods

Abstract: This paper presents the results of the quality evaluation of the weld joints on welded pipes used in industrial energy. The quality evaluation of the weld joints was performed by two methods. Using technical methods, welding faults and defects were examined, identified and evaluated by a metallographic analysis on the macrostructure of welds. According to ISO 6520-1:2007, the faults and defects were detected and classified into the group and classified into quality levels using ISO 5817:2008-03. Two quality ma… Show more

“…Based on the ambiance of the weld atmosphere (noise level) and emission of fumes from the process performed to improve the joint characteristics in a safe manner [55,56]. The weld quality has been determined using various methodologies to have a better bonding between the alloys [57], in this work the faults and defects are represented in a feasible approach. The major difficulty in a laser welding process is the control of distortion in the joining process, [58] has reported work on the distortion control by adopting the TAGUCHI methodology for a flexible approach to usage.…”

“…When performing operations such as pipe welding, it is essential to use methods for assessing the quality of welded pipelines [7,8] and new technologies [9] and equipment for in-line inspection of pipelines that serve mobile technological modules. A promising direction for creating these modules can be the walking mechanisms of robots [10,11], which increase adhesion to the internal surfaces of pipelines.…”
