Quantitative proteomic analysis ofRhodococcus ruberresponsive to organic solvents

Abstract: Rhodococcus ruber with organic tolerance has potential applications in biotransformation and bioremediation. To explore the possible organic tolerance mechanism, the response of R. ruber SD3 to toluene and phenol was investigated using a quantitative proteomics approach with isobaric tag for relative and absolute quantification (iTRAQ) and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. A total of 362 and 488 differentially expressed proteins were identified in the toluene treatment group and the phenol treatm… Show more

“…All the previous proteomic investigations, which were performed on Rhodococcus , only highlighted its catabolic behavior towards different organic compounds viz . Fluoranthene 14 , toluene and phenol 15 , propane 16 , triacylglycerol 17 , 4,4′-Dithiodibutyric Acid 18 , benzoate 19 and polyaromatic compounds 20 . In this perspective, the present study for the first time unravels its proteomic response towards the abiotic stress and identified a protein biomarker for low-temperature nitrogen deficient conditions.…”

“…The enrichment of the quorum sensing pathway implies its role in the adaptation of bio lm microbiome to seasonal variations. The two-component system is a fundamental stimulus-response coupling mechanism that enables microorganisms to sense and respond to changes in environmental conditions (Kuang et al, 2018). Following seasonal variations, some proteins involved in the two-component system pathway were differentially regulated.…”
