Radially sandwiched cylindrical piezoelectric transducer

Abstract: A new type of radially sandwiched piezoelectric short cylindrical transducer is developed and its radial vibration is studied. The transducer is composed of a solid metal disk, a radially polarized piezoelectric ceramic short tube and a metal tube. The radial vibrations of the solid metal disk, the radially polarized piezoelectric tube and the metal tube are analyzed and their electromechanical equivalent circuits are introduced. Based on the mechanical boundary conditions among the metal disk, the piezoelect… Show more

“…Material properties of electrode. 39,41,44,45 Electrode frequency curves can be measured using an impedance analyzer (model: Agilent 4294A), which are plotted in Figure 5. From these curves, the fundamental f r and f a can be obtained, which are further addressed in Table 4 for comparisons.…”

“…The expressions of the impedances are as follows [19][20] , From Figs. 2 and 3, it can be seen that the electromechanical equivalent circuit for a radially polarized piezoelectric ceramic ring is different from that of a thickness polarized piezoelectric ceramic ring.…”

“…Moreover, to reduce costs of the traditional SAs due to cable laying, a Zigbee-based wireless SA sensor is designed for SHM in concrete structures; however, the stress wave is still excited by a traditional wired SA transmitter [73]. Moreover, to better understand the electro-mechanical characteristics of SAs, Wang et al [65] developed a theoretical model to study the performance of the SA with marble protection based on the piezo-elasticity theory [74][75][76][77].…”
