Under the growing restrictions of the Chinese eco-environmental policies, the impact of under-lake coal mining on wetlands is receiving increasing attention from both coal mining enterprises and local governments. This paper focuses on the impact of under-lake coal mining on the Nansi Lake wetland from 1991 to 2021. Field measurements, resident surveys, and remote sensing inversion were comprehensively employed to quantitatively assess the impact. The calculation of the assessment indicators refers to the elastic coefficient, the information for which comes from four major categories of ecosystem service values (ESVs) and eight sub-ESVs. According to the results of the remote sensing interpretation and inversion, by 2021 the range had enlarged by 32.3 km2, and the water depth had increased by 1.9 m in the mining-disturbed area relative to 1991. The ESV fluctuations in the Nansi Lake wetland also exhibited a generally increasing trend over time. Our results show that the under-lake mining disturbs the ESVs, but the disturbance is not sufficient to result in significant consequences. Based on the data analysis, we suggest several well-directed, appropriate restoration strategies to achieve the desired objectives and target the response of the ESV changes. Such measures will help to relieve some of the anxiety and concern about the wetland changes caused by the under-lake mining.

The deep sea is the vastest environment on Earth and provides many services and goods. Understanding the services and goods of deep-sea ecosystems would enable better resource governance and decision-making. In the present study, we reviewed and assessed deep-sea ecosystems services using the Ma conceptual framework, which incorporates ecosystems services and goods with human welfare. We also analyzed and measured the scientific production between 2012 and 2021 using the Dimension dataset. The bibliometric analysis showed a lack of studies related to deep-sea ecosystem services, which suggest the urgent need to overcome the existing knowledge gap regarding deep-sea components. However, the current knowledge revealed the crucial role that these ecosystems provide to the planet. Furthermore, we highlighted that there are common services and goods, and every ecosystem service feeds into another one. Developing actions and policies based on approaches that combine all deep-sea ecosystems services and goods are needed for the sustainable growth of the deep-sea economy in accordance with the United Nations Development Goal 14: Life Below Water.

Wetlands are badly damaged in many parts of the world. The wetland management of Minjiang Estuary wetland has achieved remarkable results. This provides valuable experience for wetland management in other areas. Minjiang Estuary wetland can achieve the effect, mainly because of the adoption of the water quality management, ecological restoration, and ecological tourism development. However, different management modes have their own scope of application. In order to spread its successes, three differential game modes related to Minjiang Estuary wetland management are constructed, and their equilibrium results are compared and analyzed. Finally, research shows that the amount of water quality control by governments is directly proportional to the resilience of wetlands. The amount of social organization culture is proportional to the degree of better water quality. The amount of development by the government and social organizations is directly proportional to the decrease of investment in the spontaneous tourism industry. When the loss caused by flood or the ecological restoration effect is large, the wetland should adopt the ecological restoration mode. When the increased income or reputation of ecotourism is large, the ecotourism development mode should be adopted. This provides a reference for how to manage wetlands and how to promote the management mode of Minjiang Estuary wetland to other areas more effectively.
