Rapid synthesis of Mn3O4 by in-situ redox method and its capacitive performances

Abstract: A quick and easy method to synthesize nanostructured Mn 3 O 4 through an in-situ redox method was presented. KMnO 4 was used as the precursor and chitosan was added during the process. The as-prepared materials were characterized by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectra (FT-IR). The electrochemical properties of Mn 3 O 4 based electrodes were systematically studied using cyclic voltammet… Show more

“…5d, the curve proles have an approximate rectangular shape and symmetric current-potential characteristics between 0 V to 1.0 V, indicating capacitive behaviour through the 1.0 V voltage window in the Na 2 SO 4 solution. 26 At the scan rates of 1, 2, 5, 10 and 50 mV s À1 , the corresponding specic capacitances were 236.86, 219.60, 196.77, 173.29 and 115.6 F g À1 , respectively. With increasing the scan rate, a decrease in the capacitance occurs, which may due to the ion transport.…”

“…The reduction rate was used via a rapid redox reaction method to adjust the reaction kinetics and form nanocrystals with a high surface energy, but the high-exponential surfaces prepared via this method were thermally unstable. 30 The seed-mediated method is based on the adsorption of carbon monoxide, 31 alkylamine, 32 and oxalic acid. 33 This impacts the surface of metal nanoseeds and leads to special adsorption configurations and thus Au nanocrystals with different surfaces.…”

“…Lee successfully prepared Au@Pd hexoctahedral nanocrystals coated by high-index {541} facets using an electrochemical method, but platinum nanoparticles did little to enhance the Raman signal. The reduction rate was used via a rapid redox reaction method to adjust the reaction kinetics and form nanocrystals with a high surface energy, but the high-exponential surfaces prepared via this method were thermally unstable . The seed-mediated method is based on the adsorption of carbon monoxide, alkylamine, and oxalic acid .…”

“…The past half‐century has witnessed a refreshing change in the field of energy storage [5] . Especially, there have been leaps and bounds in various rechargeable batteries, as well as supercapacitors (SCs) [6] . For instance, a variety of large‐scale energy storage systems have been built, different forms of battery packs have been designed, and the devices for daily life have become smaller, lighter, portable, and even wearable.…”
