“…The FCS developed in the present study offers business school academics a glimpse into the dimensions that academics perceive to be indicators of a good colleagueone that provides support and is trustworthy; does not engage in politics and positioning to advantage their own situation; and contributes to the well-being of the students, the department and the university. These three dimensions map well with Cipriano and Buller's (2012a) framework of collegial behavior within a university and Shah's (2011) TCS for secondary school teachers. The FCS exhibited surprisingly strong psychometric properties, which suggests that the FCS has the promise to be a reliable and valid measure of a business school's level of collegiality.…”

“…Cipriano and Buller (2012a, p. 46) indicate that when university administrators do not have a formal 323 Collegiality in business schools institutional definition of collegiality they tend to resort to "I know it when I see it." Cipriano and Buller (2012a) noted six themes that emerged as hallmarks of collegial behavior including: collaborating with other faculty and the administration; "stepping up" to serve the common good; being responsible with work duties; respecting the university's decision-making processes; respecting others; and being supportive and helpful.
