When introducing a robotic process automation (RPA) solution for business automation, selecting an RPA solution that is suitable for the automation target and goals is extremely difficult for customers. One reason for this difficulty is that standardised evaluation items and indicators that can support the evaluation of RPA have not been defined. The broad extension of RPA is still in its infancy and only a few studies have been conducted on this subject. In this study, an evaluation breakdown structure for RPA selection was developed by deriving evaluation items from prior studies related to RPA selection and a feasibility study was conducted. Consequently, a questionnaire was administered three times, and the coefficients of variation, content validity, consensus, and convergence of factors and criteria were measured from the survey results. All of these measurement results are reflected in the final suitability value that was calculated to verify the stability of the evaluation system and evaluation criteria indicators. This study is the first to develop an RPA solution selection evaluation standard and the proposed evaluation breakdown structure provides useful evaluation criteria and a checklist for successful RPA application and introduction.

This paper utilizes the SOA framework to realize the system structure design, combined with the total flow of the claim processing, the design of the acceptance and audit processing, responsibility determination and reminder management of 4 modules, constituting the customer claim management system as a whole. The improved LEACH algorithm is utilized to control the network topology, and the cluster tree combined with data fusion is used to reduce the energy loss of the nodes in the network. Based on the weighted queuing scheduling algorithm, the feedback processing module is designed to determine the grouping rules and calculation methods, and the decision tree algorithm is used to build the demand management prediction model. The accuracy of the prediction of the decision tree algorithm is verified to realize the case information management statistics. Analyze the utility of the improved LEACH algorithm and test the system’s performance. The experimental results show that the improved LEACH algorithm is more balanced in the range of [0,100] dead nodes, and the energy consumption is well balanced. The total delay is 16.13-time slots, which is the lowest delay among the four algorithms. The node death time is 1045 rounds, having the longest network life cycle. The system performance is tested using IO and memory-intensive loads. Before writing a file of 16GB, the system time responsiveness stays around 80%, and the system CPU utilization and disk IO utilization increase as the file is written. The system performance is good.

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is an emerging automation technology that creates software (SW) robots to partially or fully automate rule-based and repetitive tasks (aka routines) previously performed by human users in their applications' user interfaces (UIs). Successful usage of RPA requires strong support by skilled human experts, from the detection of the routines to be automated to the development of the executable scripts required to enact SW robots. In this paper, we discuss how process mining can be leveraged to minimize the manual and time-consuming steps required for the creation of SW robots, enabling new levels of automation and support for RPA. We first present a reference data model that can be used for a standardized specification of UI logs recording the interactions between workers and SW applications to enable interoperability among different tools. Then, we introduce a pipeline of processing steps that enable us to (1) semi-automatically discover the anatomy of a routine directly from the UI logs, and (2) automatically develop executable scripts for performing SW robots at run-time. We show how this pipeline can be effectively enacted by researchers/practitioners through the SmartRPA tool.
