“…However, the electrochemical and electrocatalytic properties of the vanadium-substituted polyoxometalates have been much less studied than those of the parent Keggin anions [3,. The replacement of W VI (or Mo VI ) with V V makes it possible to modify the electrochemical properties of the polyoxometalates [32,33]. The order of decreasing oxidizing ability is: V(V) [ Mo(IV) [ W(IV).…”

“…The electrochemical character of transition metal substituted polyoxometalates can by widely changed by variation of the sort of the transition atoms, which within POMs being ordered by decreasing oxidation on the following way: V(V) > Mo(VI) > W(VI) [8]. The vanadium substituted polyoxometalates can be formed by the substitution of one or more tungsten(VI) or molybdenum(VI) ions in Keggin-and Dawson-type polyoxometalates by vanadium ions (V), and are promising candidates for electrocatalytic oxidations and reductions [9,10]. Substitution of vanadium into the framework of POM can shift the stability of the saturated species to higher pH, which is important in several catalytic and electrocatalytic processes [11 -19].…”

“…[11][12][13][14] Due to their acidic nature, redox properties, catalytic activity, selectivity, thermal resistance, and reusability, heteropoly compounds are useful and versatile catalysts in a number of transformations. [15][16] These interesting compounds generally exhibit higher catalytic activities than conventional catalysts, such as mineral acids, ion-exchange resins, zeolites, etc.…”
