Recent advances in enzymatic biosensors for point‐of‐care detection of biomolecules

Abstract: Late state‐of‐the‐art analytical methodologies in chromatography, spectroscopy, and electroanalysis have been developed to meet the challenges of changing environmental and health issues. The modern trends in developing new protocols emphasize economic, portable, nano, or even smaller sample sizes and less time‐consuming processes. This has led to the development of technology‐based biosensors which meet most of the above requirements. The lab‐on‐chip technology exploiting enzyme‐based biosensors has made the … Show more

“…Enzyme immobilization on the electrode surface is one of the most important factors to be considered in the construction of amperometric biosensors [44][45][46][47]. Different immobilization methods of the GOx enzyme on the electrode surface were studied: the conventional dip and drop-coating methods and using glutaraldehyde as a cross-linking agent, which are based on electrostatic interaction and covalent bonding, respectively.…”

“…However, traditional methods have complex sample processing processes, expensive instruments, and defects for fast and sensitive on‐site inspection requirements. For pathogenic bacteria detection in food, it is necessary to overcome the limitations of the testing environment and adopt low‐cost and highly sensitive testing technologies (Gupta et al, 2022).…”
