“…Therefore, to achieve success in the application of NSC-mediated therapy and to overcome the obstacles of using stem cells in clinical scale, these issues must be resolved. The unique properties of nanomaterials such as high surface-to-volume ratio (S/V), high surface energy, distinctive mechanical, thermal, electrical, magnetic, and optical behaviors make them appropriate to address barriers in neural stem-cell therapy [32,46]. Improvement of the efficiency of stem-cell culture system through nanomaterials can be carried out by various methods such as direct addition of NMs to the culture media, coating of culture container and also conjugation of NMs with specific scaffold for 3D culture systems.…”

“…By recently developed synthetic and modification methodologies, engineered NPs can be designed to desired sizes, shapes, compositions and properties. Moreover, the combination of bioorganic/bioinorganic techniques with chemistry facilitated fabrication of multiple functionalized NPs as nanoengineered compounds [46].…”

“…Antibiotics loaded with adipose-derived, bone marrow-derived or mesenchymal SCs showed effective antibacterial and antimicrobial activities against drug-resistant infections in the cases of cancer, cardiac complications, etc. [ 50 ] Use of silver nanoparticles altered the embryonic SC structure and displayed antimicrobial effect due to the overproduction of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) [ 51 ]. SC-based nanoparticles inhibit the replication of viruses by inactivating their attachment to the host cells.…”

“…The vast scientific interest in the application of nanomaterials in stem cells is attributed to their easy preparation methods, biocompatibility, unique physical and chemical properties, and their efficient interaction with biomolecules. The applications of nanomaterials in stem cell tracking and therapy have been highlighted by various previous reports [ 8 , 9 , 10 ], and further studies on the relationship between nanomaterials and stem cell differentiation are needed.…”
