“…In this work, the actuation performance, strain hysteresis and heat generation of the shearbending mode actuators based on "soft" (BiScO3-PbTiO3 near MPB, hereafter "soft" BS-PT) and "hard" ceramics (3 mol% Pb(Mn1/3Nb2/3)O3 modified BiScO3-PbTiO3, hereafter "hard" BS-PT) were investigated at different temperatures, magnitudes of the applied electric fields and frequencies. The dielectric and piezoelectric properties of "soft" and "hard" BS-PT ceramics were given in Table Ι [15][16]. The piezoelectric properties of "hard" BS-PT ceramics are inferior to those of "soft" ones, but the dielectric loss is much smaller.…”
