One result of recently imposed and increasingly severe regulations of noise in industry has been a great increase in interest in combustion generated noise, and not only of combustion driven oscillations, which are usually intolerable anyway when they occur, but also other types of combustion generated or related noise. The authors have added to our understanding of these other types of combustion noise. The phenomena they observed are discussed in sufficient detail, especially with the backup of the photo strips, that few questions arise. However, it is possible to add some supplemental data.
