Refinement of the mathematical model of electrical energy measurement uncertainty in reduced load mode

Abstract: The object of the study is a three-phase commercial electricity metering unit for 380 V electrical grids. The uncertainty of electricity measurement in the reduced load mode is estimated by the relative deviation of the active energy, measured by the metering unit, from the actual value. The specified deviation is considered as the value of relative deviations on measuring channels, weighted by phase currents. The method of estimating the uncertainty of electricity measurement by one channel of the metering un… Show more

“…It is planned to combine the obtained statistical model of the current transformer static characteristic and the mathematical model [12], proposed by the authors, of the uncertainty of electricity measurement at reduced load in future research. This implementation of the integrated model in the software part of an automated commercial electricity metering system will reduce non-technological losses by increasing metering accuracy.…”

“…It was found in [12] that the static conversion function for the measuring channel of the metering unit at reduced load is determined, among other factors, by the static characteristics of the measuring current transformers. However, the specified characteristics were not determined, only the transformation ratios were taken into account when processing the experimental data, which somewhat reduced the accuracy of the obtained results.…”

“…The accuracy of electricity measurement by the ζ={A, B, C} measuring channel of the accounting unit in the reduced load mode can be estimated by the relative deviation δWζ of the active energy measured for the time interval Δt between the readings of the transformer connected meter (PI1) and the direct connected meter (PI2), which is determined under the assumption of zero current in the other two channels [37]:…”

“…Such a difference can reach two orders of magnitude, which makes it difficult to ensure the necessary accuracy of measurements. It was established in [8] that the current trans-formers characteristics have a decisive influence on the static conversion function of the measuring channel of the metering unit. In this work, such characteristics at reduced primary current were not determined.…”
