Regulation of endometrial cell proliferation by estrogen-induced BDNF signaling pathway

Abstract: Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is a member of the neurotrophin growth factors family. Recent studies indicated that the level of BDNF in follicular fluid is a marker for oocyte quality and infertility. Here, we intend to further investigate the function of BDNF and its signaling pathway in the regulation of endometrial cells proliferation. We found that BDNF is a critical growth factor in endometrial cells. Activation of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 signaling pathway is required… Show more

BDNF promotes the proliferation in the human endometrial cancer cells (Dong et al, ). The proliferation of goat GCs was diminished by MiR‐10b due to inhibition of BDNF expression (Peng et al, ), and BDNF enhanced proliferation of a human granulosalike tumor cell line (Xie et al, ).…”

“…The estrogen signaling pathway plays a key role in regulating the functionality and proliferation of cells in numerous contexts (19)(20)(21)(22). endometrial cell proliferation is regulated via the estrogen-induced brain-derived neurotrophic factor signaling pathway (23,24). it has also been shown that 17βestradiol is able to prevent bone deterioration at least in part via suppressing epha2/ephrina2 signaling (25,26).…”

“…In addition, BDNF may be a key factor in chronic pelvic pain of endometriosis, and is an effector of estrogen in endometrial cells, thus affecting cell growth (Dong et al, 2017;Ding et al, 2018). Furthermore, BDNF is the potential target of oleic acid, based on the results of network pharmacology.…”
