Regulatory policy of renewable energy sources in the European national economies

Abstract: The article analyzes and evaluates the development of renewable energy from the standpoint of state regulation and incentives. It is noted that the global production of renewable electricity has increased by 15% over the last year. The periods of introduction of the "green tariff" as an economic stimulus for the development of solar energy, which became the starting point for the development of alternative generation in different countries, are analyzed. The role of institutional factors in the development of … Show more

“…The paper proposes a comprehensive methodology for using GIS to assess the potential of non-traditional and renewable energy sources at the regional level in Ukraine, taking into account energy, environmental and socio-economic factors affecting the placement of non-traditional and renewable energy facilities. The proposed principles provide a reasonable search and selection of territories that are most promising for the placement of facilities for non-traditional and renewable energy in Ukraine [38,39].…”

“…Large-scale decentralization processes have accelerated the "cross" development of two important areas of state development, on the one hand, energy security at the level of Ukraine, and on the other, ensuring energy independence of communities, given a number of powers energy carriers. The third global factor is the global trend of the transition to renewable energy sources (Koval et al 2021). In addition, the need to introduce European energy saving standards, taking into account the price-quality-income scheme, gives impetus to the search for new management systems at the local level.…”

“…The importance of the role of government is noted in other works, namely Koval et al (2021), who emphasize that government regulation plays a key role in the further development of alternative energy. As noted by Correa et al (2019), in the short term, several governmental mandates and incentives, along with the development of financial and market-based mechanisms and applied research partnerships, can accelerate the implementation of more sustainable biofuel production alternatives.…”
