This study analyses the importance of the entrepreneurial intention of university students to promote social change by green entrepreneurship in regard to the three most vibrant components of AMO (Ability, Motivation, and Opportunity) theory, developed by the partial least square structural equation model (PLS-SEM). The entrepreneurial intention among students is identified via a deductive approach and this approach is developed using a PLS-SEM. The literature exploited and the methodology used comprise a full exploratory analysis technique to collect empirical data to find the predictor variables that influence the promotion of social changes connected to the mediating variable of green entrepreneurship. The survey data were collected from a total of 302 respondents through survey questionnaires from the students. The data were examined statistically to demonstrate the hypotheses predicted from the literature review. The outcomes of the hypothesis association showed that AMO theory influences the predictor variables of skills, incentives, and entrepreneurship education, and that these skills are statistically significant and accepted towards green entrepreneurship. However, the importance of a green entrepreneurship strategy is influenced by the entrepreneurial intention that encourages the promotion of social change. Therefore, the present study helps researchers to find the structural relationship between different wings connecting AMO theory with the entrepreneurial intention that incurs and develops sustainable business performance to create jobs, instead of searching for jobs. Secondly, this study also indicates a mixed approach where participants can openly discuss their opinion and understanding. Ultimately, this study encourages the use of the covariance-based structural equation model (CB-SEM) by confirming its theory, and testing the confirmatory factor analysis in particular.
The havoc caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on hospitality businesses across the world affected the human resource skills of the industry to the extent that managers and industry experts are still finding difficult how best to upgrade the skills of their workforce and enhance their capability to withstand future disruptions. It is based on this problem that this research investigated the effect of human resource skill adjustment on the dynamic capability of hospitality businesses in sub-Saharan Africa post the COVID-19 work environment. The study employed cross-sectional survey design with a total population of two hundred and twenty participants drawn from sixty hospitality businesses in the south-eastern part of Nigeria. Formulated research hypotheses were analysed with linear regression. The results of the research demonstrated that human resource skill adjustment predicted the dynamic capability of hospitality businesses. The study concludes that human resource skill adjustment measured with upskilling and reskilling methodologies predicted the dynamic capability. The implication of the finding is that managers and operators of hospitality businesses should implement human resource skill adjustment in all the functional areas of their management to enable each section or department to attain its goals equally, and enhance the dynamic capability of the industry.
Purpose. To substantiate an approach to road development investment management in Ukraine in compliance with the principle of syncretism and the use of Quality Function Deployment methodology, to improve the methodological approach to calculating the concession fee for brown-field and green-field road concession projects. Methodology. The study used a set of general and special methods of cognition: the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method, the environmental approach, multimodal analysis, Decoupling Index, Decoupling Factor, logical generalization, quantitative and qualitative comparison, scientific abstraction and systematization. Findings. According to the results of research on interrelation of cost of an investment project and volumes of works by their types, an economic-mathematical model of estimation of need for investments in projects for construction, reconstruction, repair and maintenance of public motor roads is offered. The proposed model, unlike the existing ones, is based on lateral understanding of the clarity of delineation of capital needs by type of road construction, which will provide taking management decisions on investment projects with model and information tools that will help obtain the most realistic assessment of need for capital needed to improve the transport operation condition of motor roads in Ukraine. Originality. The organizational-economic mechanism of management of investment activity of road economy and the estimation of efficiency of co-financing investment projects under programs on construction, reconstruction, repair and maintenance of motor roads is advanced. The diagnostics of efficiency of investment of construction of public motor roads under public-private partnership in the form of concession is improved. Practical value. The results of the study can be used in the activities of road industry of Ukraine for the development and implementation of investment projects under motor road development programs.
Changing business models is a topical issue in a pandemic. Recent research has shown that the search for environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions in various sectors has become relevant. The article aims to promote cooperation and adaptation of good practices between countries. Comparing the country’s history and economic situation and economic development and traditions can be seen as a precondition for success. The article examines the introduction of sharing economy and the creation of environment-friendly trends establishing a circular economy by minimizing the population’s expenses, online business growth, and accessibility of Internet technologies. The article explores the difference between the linear economic model and the circular model by adopting sharing and the efficient joint use of materials to enhance and assess sustainable development. Based on a combination of theoretical and practical research, the article explores the dynamic system and development model of sharing a circular economy. The new concept of circular economy does not promote the overproduction of new goods but the rational use of already produced ones, which significantly reduces the amount of waste generated at all stages of the product life cycle. Population groups by different income groups for sharing services are analysed. An analysis of the price characteristics of popular sharing products was used from data from Internet portals. One concludes that due to the increase in Internet users, especially mobile apps, and social networks, C2C sharing has become quite popular over the past years. Other areas also show positive development indicators but have less demand, affecting supply. Based on an in-depth study of the economic situation in Ukraine, the authors have critically chosen an industry to set as an example with the actual business situation. Therefore, three packages were created: pessimistic, standard and optimistic ones with different characteristics of implementing circular economic projects. The chosen method allows rational management decisions for attracting financing and sustainable solutions. The company’s business scenarios analysed in the article will allow to choose a system based on circular economy principles successfully.
Purpose is to substantiate foundations of sustainable management of mineral resources while implementing a circular economy model. Methods. The study has applied following research approaches: synthetic method (unification of the singled out aspects); induction method (analysis of a circular economy features); life cycle assessment (evaluation of the product influence on the environment from the viewpoint of each stage of its life cycle); circular economy toolkit (determination and evaluation of the periodicity of circular economy products and indicators); and circular economy indicator prototype (evaluation of the cyclic product efficiency). Findings. Circular economy is one of the key directions of a sustainable development policy as for conservation and protection of mineral resources; it is aimed at more efficient use and improvement of raw material extraction from industrial waste. Formation of a market infrastructure of the circular economy has been proposed based upon mining sector waste use to process it and reduce as well as to repurpose wasteless production and secondary processing of raw materials. The need has been substantiated to contribute to conservation of mineral resources for their sustainable use on the basis of the development of market infrastructure of a stable economy and mining sector waste use to process it and reduce as well as to repurpose wasteless production and secondary processing of raw materials. Originality. A concept for further development of the circular economy market infrastructure has been specified as a platform of production waste supply/demand to optimize the use and conservation of mineral resources on the principles of sustainable growth. It has been proposed to analyze assessment of business development along the lines of a circular economy while calculating parameters when manufacturing is applying primary mineral resources and industrial waste as a raw material for its further processing. Practical implications. The proposed approach of interaction between economic entities on the basis of a circular economy will provide rational use of mineral resources and contribute to the development of a sector of industrial waste processing. The abovementioned will help terminate decrease in the availability of mineral resources and form new milestones of social development on the principles of environmental friendliness and rationalism in the process of interaction with nature.
