Abstract: Background: Osteoarthritis (OA), also known as degenerative joint disease, has no curative treatment. However, pharmacological therapies such as acetaminophen, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and more recently etodolac (iodine) are commonly used in its treatment.
