Abstract:This paper presents the theoretical basis and experimental validation for a technique to remotely characterize materials using FMCW radar sensors with complex baseband architecture. Our theoretical work proves that the magnitude and phase of the input reflection coefficient of a material can be accurately extracted from the baseband data of a complex-baseband FMCW radar. This complex reflection coefficient can be used to calculate the dielectric constant, loss tangent, thickness, and layer setup of a material … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
