“…The Ti:Sapphire laser used in the current study has a very short, 300 ps, pulse-duration enabling high peak powers. Typically, Q-switched alexandrite laser have relatively long pulse-durations in the 50-100 ns range, compared to 5-10 ns for Q-switched, Nd:YAG lasers delivering 1064 and 532 nm laser energy [8][9][10][11][12][13]17]. The new picosecond-domain, 755 nm lasers represent a major shortening of the pulse-duration from 50 to 100 ns to approximately 500-900 ps [20,21].…”

“…7,[11][12][13] Moreover, traumatic tattoos with black asphalt pigment benefit from effective laser treatments. 13 In contrast, decorative tattoos are often composed of a variety of colour inks, which may require more than 8-12 treatments for clearance, although sometimes even resistant to laser treatments. 1,4,8,14 In addition, multicoloured tattoos require more than one laser system, because each tattoo colour is generally treated with its complementary Q-sw laser wavelength.…”

“…In burn-blast tattoos, foreign particles (dynamite particles) in skin necessitated that these particles be removed by surgical intervention immediately after injury for better aesthetic outcome. Bukhari reported tattoo in Arabian society used to have a cosmetic importance on the face of females, these were usually amateur tattoos done by non professional women in the tribes, nowadays Q-switched alexandrite laser is considered an effective method of tattoo removal (11). …”
