“…The combination of these tools has significantly improved the technical success in crossing lower extremity arterial occlusions. [113][114][115][116][117][118][119] Thombectomy/Thrombolysis Tools Long segment occlusions, especially those involving the superficial femoral artery, are comprised of atherosclerotic plaque and thrombus. In addition, acute or subacute presentations of lower extremity occlusive disease may have acute thrombosis superimposed upon chronic occlusive disease.…”

“…After a successful puncture, a 0.014 inch guidewire (Cruise; ASAHI INTECC, Japan) was inserted through the needle followed by a micro catheter without a sheath 1 ) . The successful bi-directional recanalization approach was mainly achieved by using a rendezvous technique 4 ) .…”

“…Integrated application of antegrade and retrograde recanalization for femoral-popliteal artery chronic total occlusions: outcomes compared with antegrade recanalization saw, and contralateral wire techniques, and the subintimal tracking and re-entry (STAR) technique, while the commonly employed retrograde techniques include the controlled antegrade and retrograde tracking and dissection (CART) technique, the rendezvous technique, and the bidirectional balloon dilation technique. The application of these techniques has been reported in various studies, but most reports have focused on only one kind of technique (3)(4)(5)(6). There is a lack of study about comprehensive analysis of integrated application of antegrade and retrograde techniques for achieving recanalization of femoral-popliteal CTOs, no results compared integrated recanalization with antegrade recanalization either in term of clinical outcomes, vascular restenosis rate, and limb salvage rate.…”
