The quality of the reproductive potential of children and adolescents in St. Petersburg has not shown positive dynamics in the last decade. The reproductive health of this contingent is provided by the offices of an obstetrician-gynecologist for minors and a pediatric urologist-andrologist. They operate with varying effectiveness, both as independent structures and as subdivisions of adolescent reproductive health centers, more often on the basis of children's polyclinics or women's consultations. Analysis of monitoring data on conditions and volumes of medical services in the field of reproductive health of children and adolescents. The algorithm developed by the specialists of the City Center for Reproductive Health “Juventa” was applied based on the requirements of the procedures for providing medical care in the profile of obstetrics and gynecology, pediatric urology-andrology. The structure and scope of activities of reproductive health services for children and adolescents in different administrative districts of the city varies significantly. This is due to the disregard of uniform requirements stipulated by regulatory documents and the lack of a unified methodology for the formation of these services. In a situation of a steady increase in the number of visits, especially for preventive purposes, institutions demonstrate a different level of efficiency of their activities. Independent offices of an obstetrician-gynecologist for minors do not fully provide all aspects of reproductive health protection and are primarily focused on working with prepubescent children. Reproductive health centers are highly sought after and preferred for providing comprehensive medical, psychological and social assistance to adolescents. The structure of reproductive health services for children and adolescents in each administrative district of the city should be represented both by the offices of an obstetrician-gynecologist for minors, and necessarily by centers for the protection of adolescent reproductive health. An urgent task should be considered the formation of a system of professional training of gynecologists to work with children and adolescents.

Protection of the schoolgirls' reproductive health that often depends on many factors, one way or another associated with low awareness of the issue, is a global priority in modern society. The study was aimed to assess the factors that affect reproductive health of the school-age girls. An online questionnaire survey of 100 girls aged 15–18 aimed at detecting reproductive health problems was carried out in Moscow. The average age of menarche was 12.3 ± 1.2 years, however, there were girls, who had menarche at the age of 10 years (10%), and those, who had menarche after the age of 14 (7%), among schoolgirls. Blood spotting between periods was observed in 21% and pelvic pain in 44% of schoolgirls; 81% had severe pain. Irritability, aggression, easy crying, rapid fatigue, and faintness before and during the periods were reported by 98%; swelling, weight gain, abdominal distension, constipation, diarrhea, breast engorgement and soreness were reported by 73%; headache, vertigo, nausea, vomiting, insomnia, increased sensitivity to smell and sound were noted by 50%; high blood pressure, heart-related pain, increased heart rate, panic attacks were reported by 21%; menstrual disorders were observed in 16% of school-age girls. The study showed that 60% of schoolgirls demonstrated medium awareness, 28% showed high awareness, and 12% had insufficient knowledge about reproductive health. The schoolgirls' insufficient awareness of the reproductive health-related issues is a major medical and social challenge that can negatively affect the schoolgirls' reproductive health and cause not only various reproductive system disorders, but also reproductive losses and even infertility later in life.
Introduction. The analysis of the incidence in adolescents (15–17 years old inclusive) showed its significant increase during the first two decades of the XXI century. The prevalence of borderline mental disorders among adolescents and cases with deviant behaviour, unhealthy lifestyle, conflict and difficult life situations are increasing. Adolescents and young people need comprehensive medical care, managed with taking into account age-related psychological and social characteristics. The purpose of the study is to analyze the trend in health indicators of older adolescents, social problems affecting the development of their health and education, and scientific substantiation of the main directions and principles of managing medical care and social assistance to adolescents and youth. Materials and methods. According to official statistics, a comparative analysis of the incidence in 0–14 years children and 15–17 years adolescents for the period 2005–2022 was carried out by the main classes of somatic pathology and mental disorders. According to scientific literature, basic information about the medical and social problems in adolescents and 15–25 years youth has been systematized. Results. Analysis of the incidence in adolescents showed its growth and revealed classes of diseases for which the rates of adolescents are higher than in children. This allows determining the main directions of treatment and preventive work. The main medical and social problems of adolescents include: health risks caused by educational factors; unhealthy lifestyle; destructive forms of behaviour; early sexual activity; early employment; professional choice that does not correspond to individual health characteristics. Limitations. The considered medical and social problems are characteristic of older adolescents (15–17 years old inclusive) and young people. Conclusion. Due to the high incidence and unfavourable course of pathologies, psychological characteristics, and the significant prevalence of medical-social problems in adolescence and young people, it is advisable to create medical-social centers for adolescents and youth on the basis of medical institutions in the country.
