Introduction. An essential index of the efficiency of the construction organization is its building period, which depends on the timing of individual work items. It is especially significant for large projects of public buildings including ones of medical establishments being complicated installations regarding their space-and-planning and technological aspects. It is known that the job duration is influenced by its complexity and number of workers assigned for it. However, the influence of the job complexity remains unexplored. It can be expressed by the average job grade and quantity of requirements for the job results. In addition to this, the nonlinear feature of the dependencies is not studied. Materials and methods. A statistical study was conducted to examine the feature of the processes and the reason for managing requirements. It was based on the data of the job labor content, complexity and duration, the number of workers during the construction of the Research Institute of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology building of the Scientific Medicine Centre of Oncology named after N.N. Blokhin in Moscow. The analysis showed the regression equation, the correlation, and determination coefficients. The significance of the coefficients was estimated using the Student’s criterion. Results. The study demonstrated a nonlinear dependence on the factors considered on the job duration. However, the average job grade is of a minor effect and can be excluded from the influencing factors. On the contrary, the quantity of requirements has a significant impact, which indicates the need to manage the requirements in the course of construction. Conclusions. To reduce the job duration, it is necessary to create a requirements management system that will also improve the quality of the performed work. In the future, it is expedient to conduct research on other construction projects.

Introduction. When designing buildings and installations, Building Information Modeling (BIM) is spread more and more widely. The adoption of national and international standards and classifications is of great importance for the implementation of information technology. Application of the BIM-technologies for constructing public buildings, in the first turn, medical ones, seems to be very promising. The paper discusses the problems of developing indigenous parametric blocks (families) and preparatory activities in using the BIM-technology. Materials and methods. One of the information technology tasks is to develop equipment specifications and transfer them through the technological chain of the construction facility life cycle. The creation and application of classifiers are necessary to prepare for using the BIM-technologies. Results. A project of an academic health science centre with an extensive equipment range is analysed. The project of a modern medical building contains a description of several hundreds of specific medical equipment types. The specifications should contain information, including denominations and quantities of the equipment units, data on overall dimensions and weights of the units, connection interfaces to the power supply, water supply, water drainage. When creating parametric blocks, the international classifiers Uniclass-2015 and OmniClass are often used. However, they do not cover the necessary equipment range and contradict the domestic practice of purchasing equipment and services for state demand. Conclusions. The cost of preparing for the design process as creating parametric blocks can make a total of tens or hundreds of man-days that should be taken into account when planning design activities. In terms of procurement for state and municipal demand, it is necessary to make design specifications following the available range of medical equipment.
Introduction. Organizational development and practice of the project management system implementation is of particular interest to engineering companies that implement complex and multi-stage design and construction projects having a complex structure, a large number of stakeholders and a high degree of result individualization. In this case, a situation often arises when processes are formalized, which means that a certain list of regulatory documents are developed in which project contributors, their activities, authority and responsibility, a sequence of actions to be performed, templates of project documents, etc. are defined, but in practice these requirements are not fulfilled or not fulfilled in full. The research problem is that approaches to the formation of a project management system do not offer a universal mechanism applied to monitor the compliance with project management requirements established by inhouse regulatory documents. As a result, project contributors resist such requirements in some companies. The subject of the study is the development of a tool designated for the monitoring of compliance with regulatory documents in the field of project management in a full-cycle engineering company. Materials and methods. The method of process modeling and reengineering, statistical analysis, and the requirements management methodology were applied. Results. Features of project management in engineering companies are outlined. Research results obtained in terms of adapting the requirement management methodology and engineering project quality are analyzed. The target scheme that applies to project management quality control and project audit processes was performed. The toolkit for the project management quality control was developed and a list of indicators was formulated. The analysis of statistics on cases of failure to comply with project management quality indicators and underlying reasons is conducted. Conclusions. The project management quality control toolkit, proposed in the article, allows to analyze the compliance of project contributors with the requirements applied to project management processes formalized in a company and to increase the efficiency of various types of projects.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
