Research on chaos and nonlinear rolling stability of a rotary-molded boat

Abstract: On the basis of nonlinear features analysis of restoring torque, damping torque and especially hull deformation, a nonlinear roll equation of rotary-molded boats has been established. The equation includes elastic deformation term which makes the equation different from existing ones for steel boats. This paper dissected its dynamic characteristic of rolling motion from different aspects by using time domain diagram, phase graph, Poincare map, as well Lyapunov exponential spectrum. And then, an exact feedback … Show more

“…Jing et al researched the self-righting performance of a 10 m rescue boat with different trims, gravity centers and water displacements through NAPA [11]. Yao et al established a nonlinear roll equation of a rotary-molded boat based on nonlinear feature analysis of restoring torques and damping torques [12]. Then, they dissected its dynamic characteristic of rolling motion via the simulation.…”

“…For example, based on the improved Chua's system, Li et al proposed an infinitescroll chaotic system by employing the sine function, and the number of scrolls increases with the increase of the calculating period of the implemented chaotic system. [17] Based on the Jerk system, Wang et al designed a multi-scroll chaotic system by employing a nested sine-PWL function. [18] On the basis of the Jerk system, Ding et al presented a grid multi-scroll chaotic system by employing sign function series and a mod-ifying sine nonlinear function, which can generate (m × n)scroll chaotic attractors.…”
