Research on gasification of low-grade fuels in a continuous layer

Show more

“…In addition, the experience of operation of solid-bed gasifier units with various biofuels indicates that the direct-flow gasifiers of reverse gasification process should be used for gas production from straw and straw-containing fuels [6,8,11]. They provide stability of the gas formation process, high degree of resin decomposition and simplification of moisture and impurities removal from the generator gas [8][9][10][11][12].…”

“…Also, addition of water steam contributes to an increase of content of such combustible component as H 2 in the generator gas. In comparison with other studies on the biomass gasification in continuous-bed gas generators [11, 14,16], addition of water steam has resulted in a 13 % increase in H 2 content in the gas.…”

“…Consequently, the presented results provide benefits of using air-steam blast in the process of gasification of plant raw materials and open up prospects for designing new effective gas generating plants with a continuous bed. In comparison with the designs discussed in [7,8,16], cost of gas generators for these plants will be 18-22 % less due to simplification of the design of the gasification chamber, the tuyere belt, the grates and absence of a fuel poking system.…”
