Comparison of Higher Education in Pakistan and China: A Sustainable Development in Student’s Perspective

Education has played a central role and has had cross-cutting impact on all aspects of human life. China–Pakistan friendly relations have a long history. They cooperate in many parts of life, especially education, i.e., beneficial for better future education exchanges between countries. This study was conducted on the education systems of China and Pakistan to understand the higher education system through a student questionnaire. This research work aimed to investigate the perceptions of Pakistani and Chinese university students on sustainable development in higher education institutes (HEIs). HEIs and universities perform a unique and vital role in society by acting as intellectuals, entrepreneurs, and problem solvers. This section presents state of the art in sustainable development, the role of sustainable development in higher education, and the students’ perspectives. There were 327 questionnaires out of 400, with 27 incomplete replies being discarded, leaving us with 300 complete surveys. The literature and research theme were used to construct the hypotheses of this study. PLS-SEM, a statistical approach that utilized the partial least squares to model structural equations, was used to evaluate the hypotheses. The analysis must take into consideration all parameters. Smart PLS 3.3.9 was used for PLS-SEM analysis in this study. The results showed that quality assurance and students’ satisfaction were significant factors related to sustainable university development programs. Moreover, there was a good correlation between technological improvements in education institutes, teachers’ capacity-building programs, and student–teacher (learning–teaching) relationships. Pakistani institutions comprised 50% of the study’s participants, while students from Chinese universities comprised the remaining 50%. Among all participants, 9.66 percent of respondents were enrolled in Ph.D. programs, 37.67 percent were enrolled in an MS/M.Phil. programs, and 52.67 percent were undergraduate students. Moreover, this study also indicated that technical improvements and advancements positively correlated with sustainable development programs for Pakistani students.

5G Business Models for Mobile Network Operators—A Survey

Emerging Fifth-generation (5G) mobile networks and associated technologies are expected to provide multi-service wireless applications with diverse specifications intended to address not only consumer-based smartphone applications, but also the needs of various vertical industry markets (e.g., healthcare, education, energy, mining, agriculture, manufacturing, and so forth). This paper extends 5G networks' technology orientation towards attaining economic value for all key 5G stakeholders, including customers, mobile network operators (MNOs), equipment vendors, public institutions, private enterprises, digital business start-ups and other third parties. Although several surveys and tutorials have discussed business models in connection with 5G networks, there is no comprehensive study on business models for emerging 5G networks from the MNO's perspective. In this survey article, we present and investigate key advances on business models for 5G networks and 5G MNOs in particular, from industry, use cases and research community perspectives. The paper focuses the theoretical business model concept from both strategic management and technological innovation perspectives. Thereafter, we discuss conventional business models for MNOs before presenting particular disruptive business models which can be considered for rolling out 5G networks with an aim to improve business efficiency. Additionally, the paper explores the emerging network deployment concept of private 5G networks and their related business models. Finally, we present some of the open research challenges and provide possible guidelines for implementing 5G business models based on various countries' socio-economic status and relevant 5G use cases applicable in a specific context of emerging economies.INDEX TERMS 5G, business model, business model innovation, disruptive business model, mobile network operators, private 5G networks. Online Learning Phenomenon: From the Perspective of Learning Facilities, Curriculum, and Character of Elementary School Students

This article aimed to describe the online learning phenomenon from the perspective of learning facilities, curriculum, and students’ characters in schools and the correlation among those three variables. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method. The data were collected through interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The research subject was the fifth-grade class of an elementary school in Palembang, which consisted of 19 students’ parents, 8 teachers, and 47 students. The findings showed that almost half of the total number of students experienced limitations in online learning facilities, most elementary school teachers could not develop curriculum and online learning models, and the online learning phenomenon triggered a decline in the students’ characters.
