Research on Representation of Geographic Spatio-temporal Information and Spatio-temporal Reasoning Rules Based on Geo-ontology and SWRL

Abstract: Recently spatial reasoning has gradually become a research hotspot in some domains such as GIS and spatiotemporal database. At present many spatio-temporal methods put forward by scholars are methods based on logic or algebra by and large, and researches on formalization representation and reasoning of geographic sptatio-temporal knowledge are few. Geo-ontology researches detailed connotations and hierarchy relationships of concepts of geographic spatial information in the geoinformatics domain and offers sema… Show more

“…Abdelmoty, Smart et al [1] propose the use of two frameworks, plus OWL, to build and maintain ontologies of places. Huang e Deng [18] propose the use of SWRL to Express spatiotemporal rules and to build geo-ontologies. GeoNet, created by Lopez-Pellicer, Silva et al [24] is implemented in RDF and comprises a set of classes and their properties, specified using WKT (Well-Known Text), GML (Geography Markup Language), and other geospatial standards.…”

“…The client includes input interface of query requirements and output interface of query results, and users can input query conditions and and get query results through them. The core of framework is placed in the server, in which there are such 3 layers as interface layer, data layer and reasoning layer [9]. The spatio-temporal query of agricultural geographic information includes such 3 methods as ordinary query of agricultural geographic information(called OQAGI for short), simple query of agricultural geographic information based on semantics(called SQAGIBS for short) and complicated query of agricultural geographic information based on semantics(called CQAGIBS for short).…”
