This paper is based on a contextualized analysis of the Colombian armed conflict, peace processes as conflict resolution mechanisms and public policy as a measure of attention, protection and restoration of the population's rights. The objective is to analyze from a business perspective the normative progress of public policy and its guidelines in the framework of social, economic and productive development which, although they represent a challenge, are supported by the actions of a whole social and institutional exercise. Methodologically, qualitative research is carried out using case studies and directed sampling with sixteen (16) organizations composed of victims of the armed conflict in the department of Cauca in southwestern Colombia, who share their stories and organizational learning in an exercise of entrepreneurship that has become their way of rebirth, and welfare. As a result, the key factors of organizational performance in the entrepreneurial processes of this type of population are identified. It is concluded that aspects such as resilience, teamwork, capacity building and value-added alternatives are essential for organizational sustainability.
