Response of bell pepper crop subjected to irrigation depths calculated by different methodologies

Abstract: A B S T R A C TWater must be supplied to a crop in the proper amount and in a timely manner. Vegetables require a good water availability in soil during their entire cycle. Thus, it is very important the implementation of an irrigation management and accurate estimation of water requirement. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of five irrigation depths estimated by the dual-Kc and single-Kc methodologies on the characteristics of growth, production and water use efficiency in the pepper crop.… Show more

The amount of water needed by the crop before irrigation depends on the type of soil and rooting depth (da Silva et al, 2017). It was estimated from the soil field capacity and permanent wilting point (Jabro et al, 2020) using Equation ().…”

“…Corn ET was estimated using the modified FAO method (MFAO) (Bernardo et al, 2019;Mantovani et al, 2006). The MFAO method has been widely used in scientific studies in Brazil (Santos et al, 2018;Silva et al, 2018c;Venancio et al, 2019;Vicente et al, 2017). In addition, it has been widely applied in several Brazilians farms and in other countries by the company IRRIGER (http://www.irriger.com.br/ en-US/) (IRRIGER, 2019).…”
