Local ducks were one of the poultry commodities that play a role in supporting livestock development around Lake Tondano, Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi. This livestock had the opportunity to supply meat and eggs for animal protein needs from livestock. Efforts were also being made to increase the productivity of local ducks by farmers who were integrated with rice crops (INTIP). The problem was how far the prospects for local duck business integration with rice. The research method used was a survey, located around Lake Tondano. Respondents were 30 farmers who developed local ducks in rice fields. The data analysis used was descriptive. Local duck farming was developed traditionally and unsustainably, mostly being grazed in rice fields. The food consumed was small animals and rice remains that fall out after harvest plus “renga” obtained from Lake Tondano. In conclusion, the local duck farming business had the opportunity to be developed based on the potential of available land and duck resources, but had threats due to the conversion of rice fields into residential areas, the availability of breeds was increasingly scarce, and the difficulty of obtaining feed.
