Rainfastness of fungicides used in the control of late blight (Phytophthora infestans) and early blight (Alternaria solani) of potato was evaluated under green house and laboratory conditions. 'Agata' and 'Monalisa' plants treated with fungicides against both diseases were subjected to 20 mm controlled rain simulation for 6 min at 30 min, 1, 2, and 4 h after application. Once all leaves had dried, foliar discs were transferred to Petri dishes and inoculated with the respective pathogens. The plates were then incubated in a BOD chamber for a 12-h photoperiod at 18°C and 25°C, respectively. Disease severity was evaluated by determining the area (%) of the foliar discs affected by disease on 5 and 7 days postinoculation. The results suggest that systemic or inherent tenacity fungicides were less influenced by the simulated rain as compared to contact fungicides. An increase in drying time promoted higher control levels of both diseases, indicating a better retention and absorption of the tested fungicides. Key words: Phytophthora infestans, Alternaria solani, Solanum tuberosum L., tenacity, rainfastness ResumoA resistência de fungicidas à chuva no controle da requeima (Phytophthora infestans) e pinta preta (Alternaria solani) da batata foi avaliada em condições de casa-se vegetação e laboratório. Plantas de batata das cultivares Agata e Monalisa tratadas com fungicidas indicados para as duas doenças foram submetidas à chuva controlada de 20 mm durante 6 minutos aos 30 minutos, 1, 2 e 4 horas após a pulverização. Após a secagem das plantas, discos foliares foram coletados e transferidos para placas de Petri e inoculados com os patógenos. Em seguida as placas foram incubadas em câmara BOD a 18° C para P. infestans e 25 ° C para A. solani, sob fotoperíodo de 12 horas. A severidade foi avaliada através da porcentagem da área do disco afetada pelas doenças aos 5 e 7 dias após a inoculação, respectivamente. Os resultados obtidos permitiram concluir que os fungicidas sistêmicos, translaminares ou com tenacidade inerente foram menos afetados pela chuva simulada quando comparados aos fungicidas de contato. O aumento do tempo de secagem promoveu maiores níveis de controle da requeima e pinta preta, evidenciando uma maior retenção ou absorção dos produtos testados.

-The amount of fungicide that adheres to the leaf during spraying and the amount that remain on the leaf after weathering are the main factors that defines the amount of active residue on the leaf surface to effectively control plant pathogens. Thus, the objective of this work was to evaluate the tenacity and persistence of copper in citrus seedling leaves under simulated rainfall in Jaboticabal, State of São Paulo, Brazil. The evaluated variables were copper content, solution retention, surface tension and drop spectrum. A significant and inversely proportional linear relationship to drops <100 µm was found. The percentage of copper retained in leaves of citrus seedlings with copper fungicides of suspension concentrate (SC) formulations after simulated rainfall was greater than 80%. Copper fungicides of SC formulations presented the lowest surface tension, allowing greater tenacity and persistence of copper on seedlings of citrus leaves after simulated rainfall and increased contact between the drops and leaf surface.Keywords: Chemical control. TENACIDADE E PERSISTÊNCIA DE FUNGICIDAS CÚPRICOS EM MUDAS CÍTRICAS SOBCHUVA SIMULADA RESUMO -A quantidade de produto que adere a folha durante a pulverização e a quantidade de material que permanece na folha após a ação de intempéries são os principais fatores que determinam a quantidade do resíduo ativo na superfície das folhas para um efetivo controle de fitopatógenos. O objetivo deste trabalho, conduzido em Jaboticabal -SP, foi avaliar a tenacidade e persistência de cobre em folhas de mudas cítricas sob ação de chuva simulada. Foram analisadas as variáveis: teor de cobre, retenção de calda, tensão superficial e espectro de gotas. Observou-se relação linear inversamente proporcional e significativa ao volume de gotas <100 μm. A porcentagem de teor de cobre retido em folhas de mudas cítricas após a simulação de chuva foi superior a 80% para os fungicidas cúpricos de formulações SC (suspensão concentrada). Os fungicidas cúpricos de formulações SC apresentaram as menores tensões superficiais, possibilitando maior tenacidade e persistência do cobre nas folhas de mudas cítricas após chuva simulada e permitindo o aumento do contato entre a gota e a superfície foliar. RESUMO:O presente trabalho teve por objetivos verificar o efeito da remoção pela chuva de diferentes formulações de flutriafol, em condições de laboratório, aplicadas em plantas de soja com e sem a adição de óleo na calda de pulverização, assim como verificar a influencia da presença do óleo na calda quanto ao espectro de gotas. O experimento considerou dez caldas resultantes da interação de cinco tratamentos contendo o flutriafol (quatro formulações de flutriafol isolado e uma mistura de flutriafol com tebuconazole), todas aplicadas com e sem óleo mineral. As dez caldas foram aplicadas sobre plantas de soja que receberam posteriormente lavagem por chuva simulada em laboratório com quatro intervalos de tempo entre a aplicação e a chuva. As chuvas foram simuladas em duas etapas, sendo uma lâmina inicial de 5 mm, seguida de uma lâmina complementar de 15 mm. Os resultados mostraram que a adição de óleo mineral na calda proporcionou tendências de maior diâmetro mediano volumétrico, menor percentual de gotas menores que 100 µm e maior uniformidade do espectro de gotas. Todas as caldas com a adição de óleo mineral apresentam maior adesão e/ou absorção do fungicida pelas plantas em comparação com as caldas sem óleo. O aumento do tempo entre a aplicação e a chuva ocasionou redução do percentual de remoção, independentemente da intensidade de chuva. Observou-se o aumento da importância da maior quantidade de chuva para remover o fungicida ao longo do tempo, acentuando a diferença entre as caldas com e sem óleo. Com o passar do tempo foi necessária uma maior quantidade de chuva para lavar as caldas aplicadas com óleo. Houve remoção significativa de fungicida até 48h após a aplicação.Palavras-chave: Fungicida, chuva, adjuvante, pulverização, tecnologia de aplicação.
