Retinal Detachment in Retrolental Fibroplasia

Abstract: Problems of retinal detachment in retrolental fibroplasia (RLF) based on observations during 10 years of 92 premature children treated with supplemental oxygen in incubators are discussed. Two essential types of retinal detachment can be distinguished: the oedematous type in the stages III–V of the active phase of RLF and the rhegmatogenous type of cicatricial RLF. In our material 2 cases of oedematous detachment, which regressed spontaneously, were found. The case of a 10-year-old boy with total retinal detac… Show more

“…Innovative Manufacturing Engineering 2015 greatest limitation being in seeing the color blue, which is perceived as gray or convex [14], which makes it difficult to recognize the moving elements of mechanisms by the elderly. The analysis of limitations of elderly people helped identify the following list of items that need to be taken into account in the design of opening systems (on the example of packaging closed by twisting): − Maximum force required to remove the cap comprising of the necessary compressive force and the possibility of transferring twisting forces through the fingers, wrist and forearm; technical parameters such as the area of contact, texture, diameter, shape of cap, limiting of forces in terms of over tightening the cap by a different user other than an elderly person.…”
