RETRACTED ARTICLE: A porous Co(II)–MOF for selective C₂H₂/CO₂ separation and treatment activity on virus-induced COPD via reducing tlr3 gene expression

Abstract

A new metal-organic framework (MOF) formulated as f[Co(L)]Á4H 2 OÁ2CH 3 CNg n (1) has been prepared by solvothermal reaction of Co(NO 3) 2 Á6H 2 O with a bifunctional ligand 5-(3,5-di-pyridin-4-yl-[1, 2, 4]triazol-1-ylmethyl)-isophthalic acid (H 2 L) in a mixed solvent of DMA/H 2 O/CH 3 CN (DMA ¼ N,N-dimethylacetamide). The microporous MOF 1 has accessible alkaline sites which could be applied for the separation of C 2 H 2 from a gas mixture of C 2 H 2 / CO 2. The adsorption capacity of C 2 H 2 and selectivity of C 2 H 2 /CO 2 are equal to those of reference materials, which make the material hopeful to become a significant C 2 H 2 /CO 2 separation material. In biological functional study, the treatment activity of the compound on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) was induced by influenza A virus infection. First, the relative expression of the tlr3 gene on the alveolar macrophages was measured with real time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The Enzyme Linked Immune Sorbent Assay (ELISA) detection was used for the evaluation of the inflammatory cytokines releasing after compound treatment against COPD. Finally, molecular docking was performed to predict the potential binding modes of the complex to TLR3 protein.
