[Retracted] Calibration of the Live Load Factor for Highway Bridges with Different Requirements of Loading

Abstract: Highway bridge load rating has been moving toward structural reliability since the issuance of AASHTO LRFR specifications; however, the recommended load factors were carried out by a few reliable truck data. The objective of this study is to calibrate the live load factor in AASHTO LRFR Rating Specification by using huge amount of WIM data collected in California for more than ten years between 2001 and 2013. Since traffic volumes, vehicular overloads, and traffic components are highly related to the load effe… Show more

“…Indicator reliability is defined as ''a variable or set of variables is consistent regarding what it intends to measure'' (Urbach Frederik, 2010, p.18). Reflective loadings of 0.708 and above are recommended (L. Liu et al, 2020;Urbach Frederik, 2010). Table 2 shows the findings of the reflective measurement model.…”

“…Additionally, compared with simply supported girder bridges, there are more continuous girder bridges [15]. Structural reliability-based live load factors have been developed by truck load effect statistics using the analytical model of the platoons of trucks and the extrapolation approach, taking a number of temporal maximum values [16].…”
