Retraction: To evaluate the performance of waste marble powder and wheat straw ash in steel fiber reinforced concrete

Abstract: In developing countries, cement is one of the most consumed materials, which leads to a huge quantity of emission of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) gas into the atmosphere. Cement could be replaced with materials that have pozzolanic properties and filler ability such as wheat straw ash (WSA). The focus of the present research is to substitute cement with WSA and fine aggregate with waste marble powder (WMP) in different doses ranging from 0% to 20% and 0% to 30% with 1.5% hooked end steel fibers in concrete. To evalu… Show more

“…Reduction in mechanical performance could be because of the smooth texture and highly irregular shape, 86 which prevents the positive influence of WG pore filling ability. 87,88 This decreases the adhesive property between cement paste and WG. The reduction in compressive strength is 89 because of the formation of voids, which may have been advanced because of the surplus fine properties of WG.…”

“…Recent advances in concrete material research have paved the road for alternative materials as long-term replacements for traditional ones [ 22 , 23 , 24 , 25 ]. Using recycled aggregates in self-compacting concrete is the first and most sustainable revolution to counteract such problems.…”

“…In the first of these datasets, studies in which the fine aggregates were partially replaced with waste marble powder in the concrete mixture were compiled [15,18,19,22,24,27,[33][34][35][36][37][38][39][40]. In the second, studies that adopted the waste fine marble aggregate in replacement for the conventional fine aggregate were compiled [21,23,28,41,42].…”
